10.23.06 (8:51 pm) [edit]It's amazing how easily people can be distracted. Right now I am procrastinating my art homework and I some how managed to get to my computer. I really should either be doing my homework or studing for the SATs, I haven't really done either for a while....It's just one of those things where you know you should do it and it's not that bad, but you just don't want to.
*Sigh* Yes procrastination has taken over very quickly. Less than 8 days into the study routine and I am slacking. I am not to suprised, but it really annoying how everything just seems to pile up between the time you should be doing something and the time it has to be done. I might, and probably, would have studied had I not had so much to do. I am sure I will get back into it after a few more days of avoiding it, but I'll do it when I am ready.
Tip: Study when you are ready. Set loose guidelines for your self and in between that time study when you want to. A detailed schedule is VERY confining and leaves no room for suprises which are always inevitable. You must push your self, but pushing your self to hard will get very aggravating and can cause stress, lack of sleep, and a simple hatred of everything related to your study book.
Be diligent in your own timely manner.

10.19.06 (6:04 pm) [edit]Yesterday I took the psat's. They were pretty simple which is good, because the sat's are hard. Or so people say.
The psat was rather odd, it was only 5 sections long. A critical reading, math, critical reading, math, and one critical writing. I think I did really well on the math section; I actually was looking forward to them. The first part of the critical reading, the fill in the blanks, I thought were relatively easy, though I do need to brush up on some vocabulary.
All in all it wasn't too bad, but I think I'll be getting the scores after I take the SAT, so they weren't really helpful, but they weren't refundable either! I guess it just helped me prep for a lengthy test.
TIP: Take lots of practice sections, and if you find a question you don't understand, ASK YOUR TEACHER! I had my calc teacher help me with this one type of problem that I had never seen before, and oh yes, I did get it correct on the psat.
Try to make your self aquainted with the types of questions that they will ask.

10.15.06 (4:39 pm) [edit]As everyone know to get a good grade you should study, well what about studying for the SATs? It's not like studying for your math test where you are focused on one chapter, or in science, in history, in english, or anything. It's not like any normal test. It's a test where you have to know every type of math problem, every place the comma goes, and just short of every vocab word. Oh and did I mention, your score can control your future too. Fun is an understatement...
Yes, this is the test that I will take in 48 days, it will either condem me or glorify me. Which it'll be I'm not sure. I've started this blog to record my progress, my steps closer and closer to a 2400. Will I get it? I highly doubt it, doesn't mean it's not expected from me.
So far my progress is minimal. Last year I took the PSATs and got a 1710, I was third in my sophmore class. It's acceptable, and I could probably go to any community or simple state school with that score, but I can do better, I just need to get my ass moving and study more. Studying not that easy though. I took a math section last night and 3 of the 18 questions I had no idea how to do, meaning, I was never taught them in school. Great now I have to teach myself math. The other 3 questions I missed where just my own little mistakes. Aparently 4/1 isn't acceptable for 4, 9+25 does not equal 36, and 3 goes into 12 4 times.
It's ok, it was just practice, right? Lets hope I can pull it together for the test.
